*Update: In Aug. 2024, The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) submitted its opinion on the government’s initiative to close the last physical casino in Sweden, the state-owned Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm.  If the proposal moves forward, the Stockholm venue will close by January 1, 2026. Casinos in Sundsvall, Gothenburg, and Malmö have already shut down.
