Hipódromo Camarero has loads of history to go with its exciting current day hore racing.  Hipódromo Camarero is located in Canóvanas and was formerly known as El Nuevo Comandante Racetrack. El Nuevo Comandante was opened in 1976 and was built to replace the original "El Comandante" which had been located in Carolina, Puerto Rico and had been operating since 1957.

Each year you will find the Clasico del Caribe - probably the most famous race for the entire Caribbean and hosts horses from Mexico and Venezuela, along with Caribbean countries like Trinidad, Dominican Republick, Jamaica and so on...
