Emerald Queen Casino Review
Owned and operated by the Puyallup Tribe, the Emerald Queen Casino located along I-5 in Tacoma will soon be replaced with a brand new $370 million casino. Already under construction, the 310,000-square-foot building, which will span both East 29th and East R streets, will include a 110,000-square-foot casino, will have a variety of restaurants (buffet, upscale and cafe), two bars, including a sports bar with a view of Mount Rainier, and one that will overlook downtown Tacoma and Puget Sound, a 2,000-seat, 21,000-square-foot events center and two parking garages with a total of 1,370 stalls. The new casino is expected to open in December 2019.
Plans for a new $65 million hotel, to be located east of the casino, include a 3.5 to 4-star facility with 150-200 rooms, a rooftop restaurant, spa and conference rooms. The new hotel is expected to open by December 2020.
Gaming at Emerald Queen I-5
While there has been no word yet (7/26/18) from the Emerald Queen Casino as to how many slots and table games the new venue will have, at almost double the size of the existing space (110,000-square-foot casino) it's probably safe to assume it will have at least as many as the current casino has now.
