Located at Hiawatha Horse Park in Sarnia in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, Gateway Casinos Sarnia opened on January 31, 2020. The new 53,100 square foot facility opened 8 years after the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. ended the slots-at-racetracks program in the province, closing Hiawatha Horse Park & Entertainment Centre in early 2012. 

The casino operates 7 days a week from 9am to 1am. And with Gateway's loyalty program, My Club Rewards, patrons can earn points by playing slots and then redeem them at the nearby Starlight Casino Point Edward or at any other Gateway casino in Ontario. 

The casino shares the property with Hiawatha Horse Park which offers year-round simulcast racing, and live harness racing is also featured seasonally, May through Septemeber. The entertainment center also features a fully automated driving range, 8 full-size beach volleyball courts and baseball diamonds.
