Hanover Raceway Review
Owned and operated by the Hanover, Bentinck & Brant Agricultural Society, Hanover Raceway is located in the town of Hanover, situated in the Grey-Bruce Peninsula. The venue features a 1/2 mile harness racing track for standardbreds, which hosts up to 15 days of free live harness racing, a simulcast lounge, full-service dining, snack bar, beer & liquor stand, and HPIBET location. While the Coach House Restaurant closed on January 31, 2019, there is Gateway’s signature restaurant brands MATCH Eatery & Public House in the rear of the facility and The Buffet in the casino. Simulcast lounge is open 364 days a year. Hanover Raceway also hosts the Standardbred Ontario Sires Stakes and the annual Hanover Fair.
The 2019 live racing season starting the first Saturday in June.
Additionally, the venue is home to the newly re-branded Playtime Casino Hanover, which features more than 300 slots, eight live dealer table games, the two restaurants and a full-service bar inside the casino.
Gaming at Hanover Raceway
Hanover Raceway boasts a ½ mile harness racing track for standardbreds. The 2019 live racing season starts the first Saturday in June to September and features up to 15 days of free live harness racing, and a simulcast lounge (HPIBET location), which is open year-round, with simulcast racing from such well-known tracks such as Belmont, Woodbine, and Flamboro Downs. The venue is also host to Sires Stakes Races and features a liquor & beer stand, snack bar and full-service restaurant, along with a casino (Playtime Casino Hanover - connected, but a separate entity) featuring 300 slots and table games.
The Simulcast facility is open 364 days a year and features 42 and 55" High Definition TVs, as well as 21" individual televisions in 11 individual carousels. A live teller is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so customers can cash their vouchers or address any concerns with equipment or programming with the Slot Bar staff or Management.
