Update: Hawthorne Casino & Race Course is coming, according to track president Tim Carey. Pending necessary approvals from the Illinois Gaming Board, Carey said they could start construction later in 2022, with a timeline of 14 months between that and operations going live in early 2024. The development would take place during racing, he said.
