Lakeshore Casino & Resort Review
The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in early 2015 take 60 acres at the site of the former Great Lakes Downs racetrack in Fruitport Township, Michigan into trust as one of many steps needed in order to open a casino there. Preliminary reports indicate that the tribe would be offering some 30-40 gaming tables along with 1,700 slots on the 70,000 square foot casino floor.
A hotel with 160-300 rooms is also proposed as part of the development along with a host of eateries and entertainment options.
Originally opened as the Muskegon Race Course, that venue closed in 1997. It was later re-opened as Great Lakes Downs racetrack which in turn closed in 2007 and was demolished in 2008.
Gaming at Lakeshore Casino & Resort
