Naskila Casino Resort Review Jump to comments
The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas has announced plans for the state’s first casino resort, to be located near Leggett in eastern Polk County, about 90 minutes northeast of Houston along US 59/I-69 North. The development is expected to feature a Class II casino floor with more than 800 slot machines, a hotel, multiple dining outlets, and an entertainment venue.
The project follows a June 2023 U.S. Supreme Court decision affirming the tribe’s right to operate Class II gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. Although the site is outside the tribe’s reservation, the land is tribally owned, and a September 23, 2025, letter from the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) confirmed that the property qualifies for casino use.
Currently in the planning stage, the resort does not yet have a set construction schedule or announced opening date.
