Los Angeles-based global advisory, development and investment company for sports and live entertainment industries, Oak View Group, has a $3 billion entertainment district planned for 25 acres of land it purchased in March 2022, on Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road, near the intersection of two major freeways, I-15 and I-215, about 10 minutes from the Strip. The project will reportedly include an adjacent 20,000-seat NBA-ready and music arena, a theater, and a hotel and casino, now named, OVG Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, which will include 2,000 rooms and suites hotel. The massive undertaking is expected to break ground in 2023.
In June 2023, Tim Leiweke, the chairman and CEO Oak View Group said he hopes to complete the permitting process for the 66-acre project at Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road by the end of the year/2023 and break ground next year/2024.
