NEWS: On August 25, 2025, the Plaza entered its next chapter in Jefferson County with a major expansion project. During construction, the convenience store, café, and slot room temporarily closed to make way for upgrades, though the fuel station, showers, and laundry services remain open around the clock. No official date for completion has been announced.

Opened in 2018, Plateau Travel Plaza has quickly become a Central Oregon hub for travelers along US-26, about 120 miles southeast of Portland in Madras. Owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs—the same tribal nation behind Indian Head Casino—the 13,300 sq ft plaza was designed to serve long-haul truckers, regional commuters, and adventure-seekers exploring Oregon’s high desert.

In addition to a truck and fueling station, over-the-road drivers, travelers and local customers will find spaces for up to 70 semi-trucks, and essentials like showers and laundry facilities. Inside, travelers can relax at the Three Tepees Café, grab quick bites at the deli, shop the convenience store and retail area, or try their luck in the 30-machine slot room—a gaming touch that connected the property to its sister venue in Warm Springs. Open 24 hours a day, it has become a trusted stopover point where comfort, gaming, and service meet.

With its blend of modern amenities, tribal ownership, and strategic location just 14 miles north of Warm Springs, Plateau Travel Plaza stands as both a rest stop and a cultural touchpoint.
