Plumeria Golf and Casino Resort Review
In late January 2016, the Tinian Casino Control Commission unanimously approved Alter City Group's request for a conditional license to operate the Plumeria Golf and Casino Resort at Nasarino Beach on the Northern Mariana Island of Tinian. The location is known by different names internationally and locally but has been referred to variously as Punta del Diablo or Puntan Diablo (devil's point) Erica's Beach, and even 'Leprosy Beach'.
The project will be built at an estimated cost of $1.2 billion and may take as long as 12 years to complete. At full build out the resort will offer 6,000 hotel rooms, villas, and apartments and may include such amenities as international theme parks, a $500 million "aerobus" monorail system physically connecting the island to Saipan, and more. Billed as a World-Class facility, Plumeria Golf and Casino Resort will feature multiple towers for the hotels, pool and spa facilities, community centers, farmers markets, and luxury retail outlets spread over 150 hectares (about 360 acres or 1/2 square mile).
The casino itself will span three floors and offer 265,000 square feet of gaming space and include 100 table games with VIP rooms and mass gaming areas, as well as 250 slot machines.
A casino soft launch is expected in 2019.
