Princess Cruises - Sun Princess Review Jump to comments

Sun Princess is the first Sphere-class cruise ship from Princess Cruises and the largest vessel ever built for the brand. Built by global shipbuilding group Fincantieri, Sun Princess welcomes 4,300 guests and is supported by 1,600 crew. She set sail on her inaugural cruise on February 28, 2024, and was christened by acclaimed British actress and singer Hannah Waddingham. Measuring 1,133 feet long and rising 200 feet high across 21 decks.

Designed to feel like a floating resort, the ship features two architectural standouts: The Dome, a striking glass-enclosed space, and The Sphere, a dramatic three-story atrium that anchors onboard life. Accommodations include 2,157 guest cabins, with 80 suites, innovative Cabana Mini-Suites offering private outdoor spaces, and the exclusive Sanctuary Collection for a premium experience. Sun Princess offers 30 restaurants and bars, along with standout entertainment venues such as the Princess Arena, Princess Live!, The Dome, The Piazza, and Princess Casino.

The largest casino ever introduced by the line, Princess Casino spans nearly 9,000 square feet with soaring ceilings and a sleek, modern design. It features a wide selection of slot machines, including a dedicated Buffalo Zone, along with table games offering linked progressive jackpots. Fully integrated with the Medallion system, the casino allows for seamless cashless play and easy tracking of points, delivering a high-energy gaming experience with expansive options and added convenience.

Guests enjoy faster Starlink Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, youth and teen centers for ages six months to 17, a two-story spa and salon, extensive fitness and wellness facilities, multiple outdoor terraces, five pools, and nine hot tubs. Shopping spans over 5,800 square feet across two decks, featuring more than 200 premium brands. Blending classic Princess favorites with immersive new experiences, Sun Princess is designed for multi-generational travelers seeking both excitement and relaxation.

Sun Princess doesn't have a "permanent" home location; like most cruise ships, she sails globally. A few of the popular drydock port locations of Crown Princess include Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the U.S., Sydney, Australia and Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
