A grand opening celebration for Sandy's Racing & Gaming in Cannonsburg, in Eastern Kentucky was held on October 26, 2023. The 75,000 sq ft facility offers pari-mutuel wagering, nearly 700 historical horse racing (HHRs) machines and a 5,200 square-foot retail BetMGM Race & Sportsbook. Other amenities include a pair of stages where daily entertainment features dueling pianos, along with local and national performers. The state's only quarter-horse race track and equestrian center will reportedly be included in the project, to be located on 182 acres directly behind the $75 million entertainment facility in Boyd County and is scheduled to have its first races in 2025.

This craft-focused kitchen offers multiple dining options, with all of the meat used locally sourced. Menu highlights include the Big Sandy Burger, flatbreads, root beer floats made with The Peddler in Huntington, West Virginia and Sandy's Ale, a craft beer made by Mikerphone Brewing in Illinois, which is exclusive to Sandy's. Visitors can choose from a variety of tasty appetizers, salads, flatbread pizza, wings and burgers and sandwiches like the seasonal all-in turkey feast, raz brie burger and the big sandy burger. Draft and can beer, along with fountain drinks, tea, coffee and water are also available. Diners will also be treated to live entertainment on scheduled dates.

Open 7 days a week from 9am, the Sand Bar is located in the center of all the gaming action at Sandy's Racing & Gaming. This spacious bar features a stage with dueling pianos for live entertainment and bar-top gaming. Guests can choose from can and draft beers, along with hand-crafted cocktails such as the Piña Blue-Lotta, a concoction of don q rum, rumhaven, house-made piña colada mix, amaretto, flavor of melon and blue curaçao.
