Sun Downs Review
Sun Downs is the name of the horse racing venue located at the Benton Franklin Fairgrounds on the corner of South Oak Street and East 10th Avenue in Kennewick, Washington. Parimutuel horse races are usually run for 6 days over three weekends at the Sun Downs with the 2014 race season lasting from April 19 to May 4. The Fair itself is held at the end of August and includes a rodeo, demolition derby, parade, and more.
The track struggles every year to open meets. If you are a fan please let them know you support the Tri-Cities Horse Racing Association's efforts. (509) 582-5434

Gaming at Sun Downs
The 2014 season saw three weekends of racing for six days of fun and betting at Sundowns in Kennewick. Post time is 1pm every Saturday and Sunday of the meet. The last day of the races is taken up by the $60,000 Pot O' Gold Futurity - winners from the meet go on to bigger races around the country.
If you are a fan of horse racing, let Nancy Sorick of the TCHRA know you support their efforts to bring exciting Live Racing to the Tri-Cities every year. As hard as it is to keep a race going, it is much harder, and sometimes impossible to bring them back if a track goes dark for even a year.
