The Royal Turf Club of Thailand (RTCT) has unveiled plans for a sprawling THB200 billion ($5.8 billion) entertainment complex that will include a casino. “The Royal Siam Haven” will also reportedly comprise a horse racetrack, a clubhouse, a golf course, yacht club, sports complex, a six-star hotel, luxury restaurants, a wellness hospital and a learning centre. The exact location of the site has yet to be revealed, except for that it will be on a 1,200-rai plot of land.
Construction is expected to start in 2025 and would take seven years to complete.
Currently, most forms of gambling are illegal in Thailand, except for state-controlled horse races and an official lottery. However, underground betting remains prevalent.
