Located in Pretoria, Time Square offers world-class dining, entertainment, and conference facilities in the heart of South Africa’s capital city. The Sun International property is situated in the Menlyn Maine eco-district and is the continent's second-largest casino. The facility's 2,000 slots and 60 tables span two floors and feature a premium gaming area, Sun Privé, which offers guests a more intimate gaming environment and its own menu and dining offering. Complementing the full suite of gaming areas, there are also four separate and private gaming rooms. The rooms are available on request and fully catered and are located on the first floor of Time Square. They offer a mix of baccarat, blackjack, and American Roulette.

The casino is one of three phases in the R4.2 billion Time Square development. The casino, hotel, and arena are situated on top of a tri-level parking structure capable of accommodating up to 4,000 vehicles. The basement parking is connected underground to the Menlyn Maine car park.

The complex has 12 bars and restaurants, including celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s Kitchen & Bar South Africa, Something’s Cooking by J’Something, and renown chef Fortunado Mazzone's Forti Grill and Bar, located on the upper level. In addition to a tapas restaurant on the first floor and a wide range of restaurant's such as Sun International's KungFu Cowboy and Brew Monkey, look for a buffet diner and other popular franchises.

The property's 22-storey hotel is expected to open in March 2018 and will be situated between the casino and the state-of-the-art Sun Arena, which can accommodate more than 8,500 people and is slated to open in November this year.

Guy Fieri’s Kitchen & Bar South Africa

Known for his television series on the Food Network, American restaurateur and author, Guy Fieri's first ever Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar South Africa is one of three unique establishments located on the upper level of the Time Square complex. Guests can expect dishes with an American-Italian influence, along with plenty of line dancing and mechanical bull riding. Giddyup!

Something’s Cooking by J’Something

• Serving: Portuguese, South African

Something’s Cooking by J’Something joins two other unique establishments on the top level of the Time Square complex. The restaurant is the first for musician-turned-chef, Jao da Fonseca (J'Something from Johannesburg house band Mi Casa), and celebrates his Portuguese upbringing. Guests can expect to sample some of Fonseca's favorite traditional dishes with a new twist while relaxing in the intimate dining space.

Kung Fu Cowboy

Located on the ground floor of the casino, Kung Fu Cowboy is one of two Sun International offerings. The fast food restaurant pairs American cuisine with Asian favorites to make for a truly unique gastronomic experience. Guests can expect everything from Texas burgers, tacos, and tempura, to noodles and nachos!

Etas

• Serving: Tapas, Mediterranean

Located on the first floor, Etas specializes in authentic Spanish tapas and offers everything from paella to garlic-infused prawns. The eatery is the perfect place to meet friends for your favorite Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Dress is casual at Etas.

Forti Grill and Bar

Located on the ground floor of the casino, Forti Grill and Bar is one of Pretoria’s top restaurateurs, Fortunato Mazzone's newest culinary ventures. The contemporary upscale restaurant seats 180 and features an elegant, full-stocked bar, show kitchen including a pasta bar; butchery, cigar humidor, an outdoor terrace, and two private rooms.

Complete with high-end chefs and a patisserie team, guests can expect an impeccably-planned menu,  which combines the finest Italian cuisine with decadent drinks. The restaurant offers à la carte as well as tasting menus. In addition to the fantastic signature cocktail list, the wine list has been put together by expert sommeliers and features some of South Africa’s finest wines as well as an impressive international selection.

Forti Grill and Bar is open daily from 11:30am to midnight, with the exception of casino show nights when the hours will be extended to 2am for late diners.

The Brew Monkey

Sun Arena

Sun Arena is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose venue, which sits on one side of the hotel, with the casino on the other. Along with Sun Park, which is adjacent to the arena, it can host a broad range of functions such as concerts, sporting events, conferences, and international shows. The arena has the capacity to seat up to 8,500 people and offers four private suites and two meeting rooms.

Sun Arena at Time Square is expected to open in November this year.

The Globe Bar
