Three years in the making, the $529 million Wind Creek Chicago Southland opened on Nov 11, 2024, and is located near I-80 and Halsted Street, with the casino on property within East Hazel Crest and parking garages on adjacent land in Homewood. It is about a 30-minute drive south of Chicago, Illinois, and near the Indiana state line. The property is owned and operated by Wind Creek Hospitality, the principal gaming and hospitality entity for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The 70,000-square-foot south suburban casino features over 1,400 slot machines, 56 table games, a poker room, high-limit slots area, a high-limit table games salon, a sportsbook, several restaurants and bars, including the Food Bazaar that features six unique venues, and a skyline lounge.

On April 11, 2025, the state-of-the-art casino made way for a full-scale integrated resort experience, with the addition of a 16-story, 255-room and suite (43) luxury hotel with an indoor pool, fitness center and a 11,000+ sq ft full-service spa, 8,500 square feet of meeting and event space, a 15,800 square foot state-of-the-art entertainment center and a rooftop restaurant.

The casino is only 15 minutes west of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, which opened on May 14, 2021. Wind Creek manages 10 premier gaming properties in Alabama, Florida, Nevada, Pennsylvania and the Caribbean.
