On July 11, 2022, the Russellville Planning Commission approved the large-scale development plan for Cherokee Nation Businesses' Legends Resort & Casino to be located off Hob Nob Road, on 135 acres north of Interstate 40 in Russellville, Polk County, Arkansas. And are ready to proceed with construction once all outstanding litigation (Fair Play for Arkansas ballot petition) is resolved and they obtain the necessary permits and approvals. 

According to reports, the $225 million development in the heart of River Valley in Russellville will include a four-star 200-room and suite hotel and spa, a range of dining venues with a food hall, bars/lounges, 15,000 square feet of event space, a resort pool with swim-up bar and cabanas, and an outdoor music venue. The 50,000 square feet of gaming will include 1,200 slot machines and 32 table games and a sportsbook.

*In January 2023, a Pulaski County Circuit Judge ruled that the Arkansas Racing Commission's decision to issue a casino license to the Cherokee Nation in partnership with Legends Resort and Casino was unconstitutional and thereby void. The Cherokee Nation immediately appealed the decision to the Arkansas Supreme Court.
