News: Aug 2025 The $300 million Russellville casino hangs on a delayed federal ruling. After a February 2025 trial, the Eastern District of Arkansas postponed the expected April decision as the judge conducts further review. The case will decide if the 2024 Pope County license for Cherokee Nation Entertainment, authorizing the Legends Resort & Casino, was voided by Issue No. 2. The suit seeks reinstatement or damages. 

Cherokee Nation Entertainment (CNE) on June 5, 2024, submitted an application to the Arkansas Racing Commission for the Pope County casino gaming license, along with plans for its Legends Resort & Casino Arkansas project. The development site is situated northeast of Russellville on land located just north of Interstate 40 between the Weir Road exit to the west and Bradley Cove Road exit to the east, in Russellville, Polk County, Arkansas. 

According to reports, the more than $300 million development in the heart of River Valley in Russellville will include a four-star 200-room and suite hotel, resort pool and luxury spa. Other amenities will reportedly include dining options ranging from grab-and-go to a sit-down steakhouse, bars/lounges, 15,000 square feet of event space, an outdoor music venue and a water park, along with an RV and dog park. The 50,000 square feet of gaming will include 1,200 slot machines and 32 table games, a poker room and a sportsbook.

Once the casino license is awarded, Cherokee Nation Entertainment expects to commence the 18-month construction process after 60 to 90 days of permitting and pre-construction work.
