Perak Turf Club Review
The Perak Turf Club is located at Racecourse Jalan Tambun, Jalan Raja Di Hilir, 30350, Ipoh, Malaysia. Although the organization has racing roots going back to 1886 when the first meet was held in the state capital, Taiping of the former Malaya, the Perak Turf Club officially came into existence in 1926 at their present location.
A new grandstand was built in 1971 and now there is room for 15,000 race fans on any given weekend. Meets are scheduled January through December with the 2014 Racing Fixture showing a total of 26 race days including 9 Saturday meets and 17 Sunday race days.
The racetrack is turfed in cow grass with a length of 1,800 meters and a width of 21 meters. There is a sand track on the infield for training and barrier trials.
The Equine Hospital at Perak Turf Club is open 6 days a week.

The public grandstand at the Perak Turf Club seats nearly 15,000 people and charges admission of RM6. There are also air conditioned boxes with rates of RM11.20 (Off Course) and RM16.30 (On Course). There are also 5 opulently appointed Corporate Boxes for rent that feature a tote seller, washroom, and large screen televisions.
Betting on horse racing in Malaysia comes under the purview of the "Lembaga Totalisator Malaysia" or known as the Totalisator Board of Malaysia.
