The state of Massachusetts' first integrated luxury resort and entertainment destination, MGM Springfield opened on Friday, August 24, 2018, in the city that sits on the eastern bank of the Connecticut River. The opening of the resort that covers 14 acres was the culmination of a process that began seven years ago when the Expanded Gaming Act was passed in 2011 and gambling was legalized in the Commonwealth.

Not your average resort casino, MGM Springfield pays homage to the old while mixing in industrial-chic and a bit of whimsy. Visitors to the resort casino will be greeted by the iconic signature MGM Lion, all 6 feet, 600 lbs of him. The hotel lobby at MGM features an antique roulette wheel, an Indian Motorcycle, walls of books including local favorites, Dr. Seuss is plentiful, and yearbooks from local schools. The lobby also has a full-service bar and a 100-year old HOTEL sign taken from the Golden Gate Casino in Las Vegas.

The 125,000 sq ft of gaming space includes 2,550 slot machines and 120 gaming tables including a 23-table poker room and a high-limit VIP gaming area.

The Starbucks that was located in the hotel lobby has been replaced with a new VIP lounge in an effort to attract high rollers.

Casino visitors looking for that caffeine fix can visit Gelato & Espresso in the South End Market food court, along with self-service coffee stations on the casino floor and, for hotel guests only, there is a Starbucks self-service commissary on the second floor. 

The $950 million resort features works of art from local, regional and international artists throughout. The property also includes a five-story 236 room, 16 suite boutique hotel, a pool and state-of-the-art spa, full-service salon, fitness center, garden terrace and nearly 34,000 sq ft of meeting and banquet space. There is also a diverse range of dining options including a high-end steakhouse, an Italian restaurant and six food and beverage offerings in the on-site South End Market, which includes the only 24-hour eatery at MGM Springfield. There are also four bars, including Tap Sports Bar, which is a huge bar/restaurant packed with more than 50 TVs, an arcade, an 8-lane bowling alley and New England memorabilia with a heavy emphasis on basketball and the Boston Red Sox.

For visitors, there is a 3,600 space-covered parking area.

Resort amenities include a seven-screen theater, an outdoor stage with free live entertainment and a Topgolf Swing Suite, which provides a year-round, high-tech golf simulation experience, featuring three simulators within a 2,800-square foot suite. The venue also includes a bar and lounge with comfortable seating. Visitors will also enjoy an array of street-level retail shops including Kringle Candle, Indian Motorcycle, the first-ever apparel boutique from the American motorcycle brand, and Essentials, where you can find all of your everyday needs, along with souvenirs, fashion apparel, sundries and more.

The casino is open 24 hours a day.
