Wynn Poker Room

Overview

Part of Wynn Las Vegas

The Wynn Las Vegas Poker Room is second to none and a favorite mostly of high rollers. All players will find management courteous, the food above par, and the waitresses easy on the eye. One thing to look out for is that the skill level of players is often well above average. If you enjoy a challenge, this room is for you. You will find a wide range of game spreads such as No-limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha Hi.

It's a 28-table non-smoking poker room which is elegant and modern with decor and details as nice as we've seen.  The room itself isn't huge but feels spacious with plenty of room between the tables.

The Wynn offers the games listed above as well as higher limit hold 'em and Omaha, some kill games and mixed games on occasion.  We found the $2/5 NL game populated by local "pros" and playing tougher than the games elsewhere in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  The proximity and ease of parking make the room popular with local players.

Daily tournaments feature $95,000 per week in guaranteed prize pools.

All the tables have automatic shufflers and the wait-lists are posted on plasma screens in the room and channel 29 of your hotel room TV.  In addition, the tables and chairs are new and comfortable.

The staff is accommodating and knowledgeable and goes out of their way to make the players, especially the regulars and high-limit players, feel comfortable.  The dealers are professional and efficient; in 5 hours of play, we didn't see a misdeal.  The tables are well attended by attractive waitresses and high quality food can be ordered at the tables.

*Cash and tournament play is held in the poker room located at the Encore.

Final note:  The Wynn hotel is the best on the strip; it's elegant with incredible attention to detail.  The standard room is smaller than the suites -- only rooms of Las Vegas but larger than most standard rooms on the Strip.  The bathroom and bathtub are enormous; your wife or girlfriend will love them.  The spa is one of the nicest anywhere; it's an excellent place to burn off the stress of that set over set beat.

Impressions: This room is very nice with top notch tables, chairs and seems to be well run. The only two things I think that make it not my favorite room are that the room is a little crowded and the competition is a little tougher than average. There are definitely some good loose games though.
Atmosphere: As stated above, this room is very nice. The chairs, tables and the room are top notch.
The room is a little cramped, but not too bad. Its better than Mirage and Bellagio in this respect, but not as good as Caesars or Venetian.
Dealers: The dealers seemed very good to me.
Food: The drink service is very good. You can get whatever you want to drink - top shelf booze, any beer, energy drinks and coffee drinks. The waitresses look very good.
Service: The room is fairly well organized but seems like its usually too crowded. The wait times varied but were sometimes very long, up to an hour sometimes. There is no good place for waiting.
Comps: Don't know, didn't ask.

Impressions: I played here for the first time last weekend and love it. They have a great 2/5 game with no maximum buy-in so everyone was very deep. I love deep stack poker. My friend said that I should expect some tough play, but this was not the case when I played. Lots of loose players coupled with a bunch of rich tourists who only know poker from watching tournaments on TV. Very easy to exploit.
Atmosphere: Beautiful room, great tables, plush chairs. Very, very spacious and comfortable.
Dealers: Everyone was very friendly here.
Food: Great drinks, all top label.
Service: It was pretty busy the second time I tried to sit down, which was about 9:30 on a Sat evening. It took 1.5 hours to get a seat.

Impressions: Everything about Steve Wynn is classy, so why not his poker room? The atmosphere is great and there are so many of the beautiful, wealthy folks throwing their money around, particularly at night, that there are some big pots for the taking. There are plenty of sharks looking for the easy money, so be careful and pick your spots. Fun room with lots of upside.
Atmosphere: Beautifully appointed with great tables & comfortable chairs. The appointments around the room are top quality creating a comfortable, serene setting. You do not feel cramped, enough room between the 27 tables.
Dealers: Our dealer was top drawer. He was about as good as one gets in the Vegas rooms. According to my tablemates he is typical of the rest of the Wynn dealers. No visible errors, the games were kept moving, so as to keep the players alert.
Food: Lovely looking waitresses, and very efficient. I don't drink much, if at all, so this is not what I pay attention to, but the service was very good.
Service: We stayed at the Wynn,( good to have an expense account), so I was able to call down and get my name on the waiting list, which is shown on your TV. I did notice how well the poker room management treated new players, making them welcome. Classy operation.
Comps: $1 per hour, standard.
