Planet Hollywood Poker Room

Overview

Part of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas

The Planet Hollywood Poker Room has 11 tables to entertain you and you will always find action 24/7. Tournaments run four times a day with a $70 buy in and $1,000.00 guaranteed to first. Go for one of the biggest progressive jackpots on the entire planet. The  MEGAbeat starts out at $200,000 and can certainly climb to over $1,000,000+!

The PH poker room is spacious and now open with 11 tables of poker action and 2 Chinese poker/heads up tables.  The tables and chairs (swivel, up, down) are new and will be fitted with auto-shufflers when the renovation is complete.  Within a month or so, the room will have two 65-inch, a huge 103-inch and six 42-inch Panasonic plasma screens.

Daily tournaments are offered at 10a, 2p, 7p and 2a.  Players get 4000 chips and 20 min levels.  It is not a rebuy, but players can re-enter within the first hour.  Tournaments average 70-80 entrants.  As of July 6, there will be a new tournament structure implemented.

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is now affiliated with the PH poker room and a Chinese poker tournament will held July 5.  The room also has a high hand jackpot, and comps are given at the discretion of the poker room management.

I just got back from Vegas and while I was there i had time to play in a $50 rebuy at the Aladdin. The "room" is small because it is under construction but don't let it stop you from checking out a few games. Tourists abound! The hotel will be Planet Hollywood soon--that's the reason for the construction. The staff was nice and were very helpful. I like the hotel because it's reasonably priced and centrally located on the Strip.
I took 6th place in the tournament and would have done better but it was one of those days that the bb always had a hand which made it difficult to steal from the button. In this tournament, I recommend raising your good hands a large amount (5xbb) because you will get a call or two. Don't get too creative, though, because you don't have to. A simple check and an all in worked for me on a few occasions.
Overall, I like the Aladdin, but if you want great food you might have to walk across the street. With the construction, there are not a lot of good places to eat in the casino area yet. Thanks for reading!

Impressions: Very nice room! Spacious and comfortable.
Atmosphere: Very nice tables and chairs. The chairs swivel and go up and down (for shorties like me). Semi-enclosed room with no distractions.
Dealers: Funny, friendly and kept the action going even without autoshufflers.
Food: Fast drink service and there are many places to eat nearby.
Service: I played 1/2 and did not have to wait. Plenty of helpful staff, usually places are under staffed.
Comps: At the discretion of management; I was told they take care of their good customers.

Impressions: I've been there twice - once for 1/2 nl cash and once for a $110 tourney. It is a decent room with decent dealers and decent management, but it isn't anything special.
Atmosphere: The tables are good, the chairs are average, the room seemed to have enough space.
Dealers: They seemed about average.
Food: Drink service was average.
Service: When I walked up to the desk I was greeted immediately - "What's your game sir?" I said 1/2 nl. They said, "We have a seat for you right over here." They treat you well.
Comps: I didn't ask but they had some high hand bonuses posted on the wall.
